Summary:This book deals with institutional change within the EU's Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and, in particular, it deals with the type of institutional change that is ideational in nature. A discursive institutional perspective on change is elaborated and applied with specific focus on the institutional construction of a policy field concerned with organic farming within the auspices of the CAP from the late 1970s to 2005. The book has been written from a political science perspective but appeals to both researchers and professionals across a number of disciplines including rural sociology and agricultural economics.
